Welcome to our website!

Daisy came to live with the Buchele family in May of 2002.
She was dropped off at the local humane society as a 6-week-old puppy because "she was too much trouble."  She was still so little when we brought her home that we could hold her in the palms of our hands.

In August 2003, Laurie and Daisy started taking obedience classes and were quickly hooked!  They not only loved the time they spent together, but also the possibilities it offered to them as a team.  They have continued to take many classes, learn and train together, and started competing in obedience and rally in Fall 2004.  Laurie and Daisy continue to work together, and because of the challenges and rewards presented to Laurie as she has worked with Daisy, Laurie has studied and trained and is currently teaching classes, leading workshops, and judging in Rally and Obedience.

In Spring 2005 Laurie and Daisy were evaluated and Daisy began her career as a Therapy Dog.  We visit children in schools and at the Sandusky Library for their "Paws to Read" program and enjoy listening to them read.  Last year we joined a group of therapy dogs in a ministry called K9 Chaplains.  In February 2009, we were deployed with them for the first time -- along with my husband and his dog and several other teams, we were in DeKalb, Illinois, at Northern Illinois University for the anniversary of the shootings on campus.  It was an amazing, inspirational experience none of us will ever forget.  We served with K9 Chaplains again in August 2009 at a conference in Cincinnati, Ohio for families of victims of violent crimes.  Daisy loves going places, listening to children read, visiting with people, and spending time with them.
